What We Do: |
Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian –
Our children are welcomed in all aspects of the life of the church. At Sunday School, children are invited to explore their faith and learn about the Bible with an age-specific curriculum taught by our dedicated staff and volunteers. Throughout the year, we have many special programs for children of all ages. However old you are, you are welcome at First Presbyterian! Children’s programming for children in kindergarten through 5th Grade is called SLAM! They meet on Sunday afternoons from 1-2:30pm. Come join us for games, Bible studies, art and of course, snacks! Here at our church, we welcome all students in 6th-12th grade into our Youth Ministry! We encourage faith development, strong friendships, and inspiring mentorship. During the school year we meet once a week for regular scheduled programming. On Sundays we have Youth Group at 6pm. We call ourselves FPI, which stands for First Presbyterian Impact. We are a group of students and adults who have formed a family, dedicated to the needs and strengths of our people! We are grateful to God for the wonderous things happening in our ministry! Meet our Youth Director Lorrie McClure joined us in August 2024 and has helped define who the FPI community is at First Pres. She loves games, Bible studies, laughter, art, and of course spending time with teenagers. Lorrie gives of her whole heart to this ministry and hopes that in her devotion she is leading by example as a model of Christ’s love. To contact her please email her at: [email protected] or text at 870-613-6961. Our youth have the opportunity to go to: Montreat, Mo-Ranch, on mission trips, YouthQuakes, camping at the tree houses and generally have a good time. |
